Off Topic (tangential to but still relevant to stock)

This thread is for topics which are tangential to the stock, that is are a MACRO input into what drives the MICRO moves in this stock.

The below post (Post #: 45516089) which was requested by someone here, is relevant, because it is one of the major MACRO fundamental inputs into the movement of SVL and all precious metals.

Cytokine storms or the over modulation of the immune system is the root of COVID19 deaths.

Inflammation of multiple body organs the result, which subsequently leads to mostly death by Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrom (ARDS), inflammation of the lungs. However, there is also inflammation of the brain and more broadly blood vessels - its a pretty hideous disease and the most recent research shows that it impacts the immune system in a similar way to AIDS, although the receptors it attaches to are different CC5 vs ACE2.

Vaccine are still a long way off and in the event they find one post some serious phase 1,2,3 trials, there's the manufacturing, distribution and resistance of a large group of the population to inject themselves with something that has potentially been rushed through. Add to that, the good possibility that it may only be good for one season as the virus mutates, and there's plenty more disruption likely to occur in the global economy.

There are some promising therapies (non vaccines) in late stage trials (as a result of them already completed P1,2,3 for a very similar condition), which will create an excellent back stop to death, on the basis of a preliminary small footprint trial.

Regardless, CBs and governments will need to push $$ into support industry and workers and continue to drive up CBs balance sheets and the long term probability of *real* inflation.
