It is called saving face, the Directors of RFG entered into a deal which the market did not like and also with very little chance of success, and was also supported by the Oaks Board. There is a lot of Directors' pride to be saved, so they have to make these mamby pamby announcements! I would also expect that there will be no further announcements from them, given that the common directors will be gone by the end of the month (if not sooner).
