Xstrata have raised their bid to $3.00, still set to close 12 November. They have until this Friday to extend it.

If we see acceptances pick up there may well be a counter-offer.

Xstrata have declared the offer final and so cannot raise the bid price unless there is a counter bid.

This isn't over yet, if Xstrata get a few major shareholders over the line and it looks like they may get over 50% the Chinese may lob in a counter-bid. They already have 12%.
