Manufacture batteries here? Australian manufacturing is dead. Well and truly killed by our unions and corrupt politicians. The only way it will come back is if you can remove the human element by building completely autonomous factories.
A refinement plant would make sense though. The money we could save in transport costs could subsidize the higher wages of Australian workers and this would benefit the economy and let us cut out some middle men.
