Good to see some creative thinking by DEG regarding the IO opportunity; however, I'll be extremely surprised if the WA Govt and greenies stand back and let them dredge this pristine coastal area on any sort of large scale to warrant the effort required for feasible returns.
Hope I'm wrong, but maybe there is some way to justify the underwater mining ... maybe they could take a leaf out of the UAE's ambitious tourism projects in Dubais and Abu Dabi by creating a terrific new palm-shaped tourist destination? Pity the arabs don't seem to be interested in IO like the Chinese and Indians?
Anyway, good to see some positive lateral thinking by DEG who presumably have already done some sort of preliminary feasibility studies and considered the obvious obstacles.
