I read on the weekend that people in Australia are now protesting about large wind farms proposed for offshore areas.
Hard to understand the issue here.
Even if you could see them out on the water, who cares? After a few weeks you wouldn't even take any notice.
Obviously if they're offshore then they aren't impacting land users.
And I would think the fish etc. would thrive around the base of these structures, more mini habitat for sea creatures.
Bird kill is something to consider I believe these turbines kill a lot bit I'm not across it.
Overall it seems a smart idea to site them offshore and lessen impacts to us land dwellers.
We have to get our power from somewhere, agw is a crock imo but the fact is we need that electricity generation from new sources.
