A Chinese company is being lined up to conduct the first seismic survey offshore Somalia later this year. Oil services contractor BGP, a spin-off from state China National Petroleum Corp., is in talks with Australian junior Range Resources to conduct the multi-client study off the coast of Puntland, a self-governing enclave in the northeast of war-torn Somalia.
