Tantalum Australia to buy from Gippsland?

Tantalum Australia, a producer of the tantalum metal used in mobile phones, says it has agreed to buy tantalum concentrate from an unnamed African supplier as it forecasts a growth in demand for the metal.
The buyer is suspected to be Gippsland Ltd, an Australian based resource company, as the company made its own announcement today saying it had made a deal to sell Tantalum from its Abu Dabbab Project in Egypt to an unnamed buyer.
The Perth-based company says it will buy a minimum of 330,000 pounds a year. This material will then be upgraded at Tantulam Australia’s plant in Western Australia.
The project will run for four years to 2009, Gippsland said in a statement released on the Regulatory News Service.
