Your conversation with Fangk has given me another perspective on OGC and its SP.

Let me see if I understand this.

With certain assets out of action not earning revenue the SP initially becomes suppressed.

These assets are still a cash drain as well as not earning revenue, hence the AISC goes up. Due to Didipio having a very low AISC this is exaggerated.

A higher ASIC makes the SP even more leveraged to the POG.

The inactive assets and the lower gold price accelerate the SP fall. The lower the SP (due to the lower POG) the choppier it becomes.

Hence your statement "I may buy back into SBM and OGC for a trade if I think the gold price has reached a bottom."

At that level OGC essentially behaves like a leveraged Gold ETF with a lucky dip prize if the Didipio situation works out.
