As a home schooled relative newbie to the stock market (only 2years or so) I at first wondered this same question too, for stocks traded on more than one exchange.

I think what you will find is, as stated, OGC has 262m shares outstanding, current market cap 622m.

I'm not sure what the exact ratio is, but i would imagine you would find something like 100m shares traded on the ASX, 100m on the TSX and 62m on the NZ exchange (or something like that anyway). There will be slight variations between exact prices between exchanges when also taking into account currency fluctations, but the true market cap is right at around 622m at present. ....NOT 622m worth of shares on the ASX, then another 400m worth on the TSX and 200m on the NZ exchange giving a total market cap of 1222m as an example.

This is my understanding. I'm sure there will be more experienced investors/traders that would be able to clarify and confirm that this is correct if they could be so kind.
