    I'm cognisant of the huge 'buffer' the oceans provide, which is why I live on the coast instead of inland. Much less temperature variation.

    I just would have thought that overall, all things being equal, that the oceans would absorb heat energy in a fairly steady rate, if the atmosphere was also heating up at a steady rate.

    There are a LOT of other variables. Cloud formation. Winds. Swells. Currents. Albedo.........

    I'm glad I'm not trying to model it.
