Well the naysayers on the Allied deal will gather some ammunition from today's announcement. Costs blown out, the state of the mines worse than they thought. This is one of those "reading between the lines" announcements. Given HC's understandable position when it comes to defamation, I will keep my comments to a minimum.
I pulled out when the price started declining a while ago, and will wait until SBM starts turning things around.
I really liked the Allied story, but pragmatism prevailed in the end and it was clear I was far too optimistic about the business.
