Depends on how you look at it, dealing with Chinese companies equates to dealing with the Chinese Government. Thus no competition and one country at the mercy of the other more powerful country. Just to add a little; corruption would run rife with no belief in any contracts and a government that is unable to Govern.

If the contracts are not held up in this case by the DRC Government, this will go the international courts. Institutions such as the world bank etc that are looking to support the DRC government in their battery council will not be able to support / provide funds for development. The ramifications of a failure of law in this case are huge.

As per usual it will be dependant on how air tight the contract are and how diligently AVZ management administered their side of the contract.

Interesting times, however the DRC have much more that their reputation to loose in this case.
