I think Nigel has been blindsided. I genuinely believe AVZ purchased the extra 15% and clearly paid for it but somehow a second deal has been done. Question is which will win and what will happen to the extra money. Will it be returned to Zijin or AVZ?? Doubt it given we are playing in the DRC.

Someone previous hypothesised that Zijin may have put in a low ball offer for AVZ which they rejected so they went after Cominiere’s share. Sounds plausible.

People question why Zijin have now come out of the woodwork. Well it makes sense for them to wait until the last minute and let AVZ to do all the heavy lifting and take the rewards at the end.
