I disagree with the comment "a bunch of tax loopholes need to be removed".
They are there for the employer/business owner.
When you earn other than PAYE, the ATO demands Provisional Tax (ordinary tax this year and DOUBLE TAX for next year - of course as yet unearned).
The only way to survive as an employer is an accountant and loopholes.
It's insane they demand 30% tax now on income you won't earn until next year.
But it's there and we pay it "Provisional Tax".
Somebody has to employ - otherwise we would all work for the Government.
