There have been more technical issues and failures in the current round of drilling with the Kan Tan lV than occur with most programmes. The costs have soared to the point that extra reserves are equal or less in value than the cost of finding them. Is this due to poor geological understanding, poor well planning, conflicts between contracting parties or pure bad drilling practices? As usual only the shareholders carry the can and everyone else puts it down to bad luck. In this case PPP carry a massive burden and will likely be totally broke after what was promised as company making prospects.
