U.S. gasoline supply rise for a third week: Energy Dept

SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- The Energy Department said motor gasoline inventories rose 1.3 million barrels for the week ended May 12 to total 206.4 million. They are still 3.5% below the year-ago level, the government data showed. Crude stocks fell 100,000 barrels to total 346.9 million barrels -- 4.7% above the year-ago level. Distillate supplies fell 100,000 barrels to 114.6 million.
They're 7.3% above the year-ago level. June crude fell 13 cents to $69.40 a barrel. June unleaded gas lost 2.11 cents to $2.005 a gallon and June heating oil was at $1.947 a gallon, down 0.4 cent.

1.3 million-barrel increase reported by the Energy Department. Crude stocks fell 4.2 million barrels, the API said. But it also revised the tally for the week ended May 5 to 347.96 million from 346.8 million. The government had reported a 100,000-barrel decline for crude stocks. Distillate inventories were down
326,000 barrels, the API said. (This replaces an earlier item that incorrectly reported the reduction to crude stocks from the API.)

So let me get this right...

Barrells of Gas have fallen 2 mill not risen 1.3 to 206.4 million. So it is really 206.4 less 1.3 less 2 mill = 203.1.

So if 206.4 mill was 3.5% less than last years, than last years level was 206.4 mill plus 3.5% (7,224,000) = 213,624,000.

Now, they actually have 206.4 mill less 1.3 mill less another 2 mill, or really 203.1 mill. That's 4.9% less than last years levels. And one week for peak summer driving season and crude has also fallen 4.2 million barrels not 100,000. Interesting.
