In oil and gas all the operators costs are in USD as well. Such as hiring of oil rigs, contractors etc. They only pay costs in AUD at the head office for director wages, audit fees etc. So although the rising AUD mitigates the effects of a rising oil price, it is not as bad for a gold producer for example, where every cost is priced in AUD and they sell gold in USD.
