I think that people should have this and also shale oil in the back of their mind when they think of THE BIG QUESTIONS.

This is really heavy crude from venezuela.

At the moment this type of crude is used. It goes into crackers and produces high octane naptha from the crackers.

I assume chavez wants to produce the crude and crack it in venezuela.

Its quite expensive to produce because it is almost solid at room temperature and most of it is down in the orinocco basin (there is probably a hell of a lot more in the amazon but thats another question).
