I had a gentleman come to my house 5 years ago that was looking at buying a car I had advertised. Somehow we got talking about oil and he had a theory that oil was in the earths centre simply to act as a cooling system to the mantle.He thought that the earth is warming up from the inside out not from the atmosphere. That oil is there for a reason, not for our consumption. I thought it was quite a strange conversation at the time given the context. He didn't buy the car either.
