re: oil is up - wpl is up ,gse You are absolutely right Flexy, and I could give numerous examples of how they roped in the suckers, including the timing of expiry when they nearly got taken over by Shell that time. a fine example of insider trading on the last day, by the way, and which I exposed on some other forum.
but my experience goes back a lot further than that, indicating that I know what I'm talking about. what you need to watch is which option series have the largest open-interest positions and take it from there.
on this occasion, they've got themselves into position earlier than usual. normally, it's a last-minute collapse of price. the Mauretania factor may have something to do with it.
it will be very interesting to observe WPL for the next couple of weeks. the quantity of 1900's are negligible and the 1750's & 1800's may have to survive, but no way will they tolerate the 1850's to show a profit. somehow, with the oil-price climbing to a new high, they might find it difficult this time, squeezing out the suckers.
practical application? get in on friday august 27, or on first rise thereafter!
