Oil is widely used for heating in the US & Canda- & gas, of course. Itcan be expected if these freezing current conditions (some areas have record lows) continue, there will be upward movemeents in fossil fuel prices.
(Conversely, Europe, apart for a very cold period from c.10.12.- 30.12.22, has had a mild winter, with temperatures well above the average. Winter is, officially, from 24.12- 24.3).
With constant cloud cover, snow, sleet, ice etc. on solar panels, they will produce virually no power, for heating.
