In this game of thrones you sacrifice pieces - the world has never changed EVER - only technology has - you could ask Roman politicians of what they see unfolding and you'd be surprised how they could swap crude for olive oil or gold or slaves or wheat and tell you how things may well play out..

Oil may not be the end game - even financial markets may only be a pawn - the world is as small now as the mediterranean was to the Romans but the West has 2 Carthaginians to deal with and both are becoming more and more pushy - Rome defeated Carthage in the end but was in time taken down by the Germans to the North even though the Romans had been able to play them off against each other for 100's of years.... the world has no room to end who gets to be king of the sandpit like old times so instead we have a different kind of warfare which is evolving - but the games being played could get out of hand just like what happened to the Romans with the Germans BUT the end game of that if it played out now would be biblical as there is no where to go anymore the world has shrunk and all can be touched - bring back Yeltzin and Clinton - the world had such a chance back then but we have to keep playing game of thrones..
