In the oil business, may I suggest that you do not accept possibilities as forecasts . The geo reading his seismic data will tell us all of "areas of interest" and "zones of possible oil [or gas ]occurrence". But this is NOT a "forecast". And therefore we should not mark the geo as being in error if the chance was not a success. If the company did not alert us to the zones of potential, we would all be complaining.

Remember, geology is part science and part art. The Geo is staring at his seismic, enlarged on his computer screen, and he is treating us all as partners is the data interpretation. Time to be understanding of the poor stressed geo. Conix
