Believe it or not, I and my work colleagues were presented with this puzzle as part of a motivational, creative thinking exercise, presented by some well-meaning but sadly inadequate bright young thing ("BYT") from HR - the puzzle itself was, even more incredibly, a TED Talk video, which BYT assured us was a demonstration of win-win approach to business relationships.
According to the internal logic of the puzzle, it's not a win-win, it's a game of hide-the-loser. And for that matter, same is true for a lot of business relationships.
