If anyone is interested in reading up on the UK area technical promote document, I found this article from the UK Department of Energy. (something different, A-2 which ain't changin', until news probably Feb 2013). Probably posted before, but worth a renewed look...

    Summary :
It seems like the area of best chance is thick Lias shale (high TOC 8% +) for source rock, with sandstone/limestone units above and below, connected by fractures. These units if shaped right can act as reservoirs with reasonably good porosity. The UK leases NWE has a percentage of are well placed according to the promote document. Bridgeport sandstones is probably the most promising...along with carbonate sequences. Wytch farm >400MBarrels IP, seems to connect to a lower sandstone unit.

Some pictures (excerpts) showing the most prospective areas from the promote document and our presentation.

The yellow bits are considered highly prospective for trapping in the Bridgeport. The dots are drill locations. NWE 50% PEDL238 looks very well located (Mooneye about 50MBls recoverable P50).

    And the source rocks...
