Received my letter from the gestapo today informing me that my meager pension will cease in the new year.
The good news is that I will get a non asset tested perpetual health card .
The centrelink guy told me they had been inundated with folk putting in a last ditch claim for the old age pension knowing that they would be kicked off it in the new year to get the health card.
This is great news for me as the card is perpetual and I have the SS out of my life forever...
Having said that , there are folk out there that rely heavily on their part pension to survive and some will have their pension cut or terminated , I feel deep sorry for these people .
I also feel that there should be some allowance given to those that put their lives on the line by joining the services whether in combat zones/duty or not...we owe them...( or you )
