Durkin Nickel Prospect The Durkin Nickel Prospect, is located approximately 60 km northwest of Tarcoola. The prospect comprises an area of about 4 km2 with highly anomalous calcrete samples from previous reconnaissance exploration (peak values of 330 ppm Ni, 175 ppm Cu and 75 ppm Co). Sample spacing is still relatively broad (200 m to 800 m) with infill sampling planned by Tasman to better define the anomaly. Mafic and ultramafic rocks have been recorded in the Durkin area but the geology is poorly known. Other untested, gold-in-calcrete anomalies are present within the tenement area and these are currently being assessed for their potential. Infill and step out calcrete sampling, together with regolith landform mapping are planned for mid-2005, with drill follow-up tentatively scheduled for later in 2005.
NITON XRF spot readings have also been undertaken of key sample sites with readings returning results far exceeding previously reported maximum copper results from sampling. NITON spot readings include copper grades of up to 654.32 ppm Cu* (Table 1) significantly higher than the previously reported maximum of 175 ppm Cu.
So would it be fair to say that those old grades are quite old but the new grades are recent and could really be interesting
This EL has mainly been looked at for U over the years and nothing else really when you do a lot of reading of the Tasman Resources ASX releases
