Maybe. Depends on the oldie. F-i-l is 88 (so’s the m-i-l) but he’s still respected by the teens. And uncle Ernie - everyone says how amazing he was at 95. Alert, witty, didn’t overdo the stories of early Australia - “Cairns? Eh, from Brisbane that took a week and 49 creek crossings.” Smoked, drank, ate white bread, sausages and chicken wings. Lots of tea.
Built his own TV in 1936. Fought the Japs in India and Burma in the REME. Was called back to Britain to work on the Typhoon tails, which kept falling off. Always very humble, dry sense of humour, worked for meals on wheels until he was 85 or so ..... all young folk could learn a lot from the Uncle Ernies of this world.
