IMO a trend line doesn't have to be delineated exactly but wicks or bodies of candles to a precise point. Trend lines show the ebb and flow of buyers and sellers and are subjective to each individuals perception. It's not an exact science. There will always be some extremes in price with breaks down or above trend lines. There is 3% rule that is often touted but who knows that again in someones interpretation.
