On Skynews Agenda just now, Mark Latham said the old "flannel shirts and ugh boots" western Sydney has long gone. He said that the old manufacturing union grasp on the region has also gone.
He describes the many differing residents of western Sydney as "aspirational". They want what what other Australians want.
He lives in the area and held the seat of Werriwa, I believe. This is likely to be lost by Labor in the next election.
