I see the fear is all ready permeating:

Real Estate Institute of SA chief executive Greg Troughton said buyers needed to have confidence in the SA market in the wake of BHP scaling back the Olympic Dam expansion.

"At the risk of making everything sound like ... the world coming to an end, the confidence of the SA consumer may have taken a bit of a battering," he said.

"It's really important we have a good jump and people look forward to the possibilities of what they could buy."

So REISA is hoping for a spring surge of buyers to take the lead in the wake of the Olympic Dam battering. Wonder if he will get it?

Most RE agents begged sellers to take their homes of the market in early winter because there were too many home on the market. The homes taken off the market, ended up in the rental market and now this is oversupplied. I see rental vacancies in NSW has now surged to the highest level in 6 years. http://smh.domain.com.au/sydneys-rental-squeeze-eases-20120825-24svo.html

Wonder if the sell off will start again come Spring?
