Miles in an idiot but lets be frank the Commonwealth games and [less extent] Olympics are a collossal waste of money
no one cares enough about the event to travel, this is not the FIFA world cup in which you will sell out 98percent of games and have billions of viewers tuning in.
it isnt saying people wont attend/watch some of the more popular events ie Football, Basketball etc but for the most part people dont follow Shot Put, diving Javline etc in the masses
No one cares, the Olympics also 'lacks' star power as well but in the day you had names like Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, Even Leo Messi etc
personally think it needs to die sport should be professional in nature and not just a flash in the pan one every 4 years
