    That reminded me of a study published 20 or so years ago on Scandinavian men who had had their first heart attack. Test group gave up the fags, exercised more, lost weight, the usual.
    Compared to the control group who didn't change their lifestyle they had a much greater mortality rate.
    I used to clip out counter intuitive articles like that from the papers, but that was way before the net. Now examples like that are everywhere.

    Number one rule of propaganda(or public health campaigns or advertising or PR or spin)is keep the message simple and and consistent and repeat it often. Whether it is right or wrong is beside the point.
