Onlymoney said he was waiting to hear back about the NLC mothballed fertilizer plants. I was helping him out by finding evidence that the fertilizer plants were all sold off in 2005 for a handsome profit. It was not that hard to find.

As I said, the Indian government has formed a consortium to revive four mothballed fertilizer plants using natural gas and coal gasification technology. No mention of NLC.

The NLC fertilizer story is interesting. After spending a fortune upgrading their fertilizer plants, NLC did close them down in 2002 and then sold off all plant and equipment in 2005 for a nice profit. See note ii at the end of this document.

My guess is that if they do decide to get back into the fertilizer business they'll very likely go with gasification as it's proven tech and they're already invested in it. As they are in CFBC, FGD and other proven clean coal technologies.
