The main reason that Woodside did not go ahead with JPP was because of the exorbadent costs associated with building the LNG plant. As far as I am aware they had an agreement signed with the T/O's for JPP and in fact the T/O's were more than annoyed that JPP did not go ahead.They stated in a newspaper article that the greenies had packed up and gone back to live in their million dollar houses in Sydney and the indigenous communities had been left with nothing.They were going to receive up to $1 Bill for jobs and their communities. Echo tourism simply is not going bring enough jobs to the region.
Since that time the WA Government have acquired the land at JPP which it is assumed to eventually build a scaled down version of the orignal development.
