Liquidity IS an issue in the calculations for those that go in/out of the various indices; ASX50, 100, 200, 300.
Stewart Elliot owns 724.4million out of the 1,431m on issue, or 50.6%. This lot are definitely taken out. Not sure about the Packer’s 11%. Not sure how they calculate, but with Elliot’s 50% out, it may mean they only register half real mkt cap. One of the big brokers would be able to explain it. I’ll ask.
Fortunately the ABN Amro road show in Europe recently, has seen quite a few overseas instos onto the register, not bothering with which index EWC is in. Yes, it will help when they move up a notch in the indices; that will happen, when it happens.
Story remains firm & in these volatile times, ENERGY is one of the places to be imho.
