The lower reefs have not been mined at all and could contain over 1Moz. If it wasn't for the existing plant and the existing tunnels, ventilation shafts etc.
Mining these deposits could well be a big risk.
The fact there is already probably $50M worth of expenditure on shafts, plant etc. makes this a very viable project. Maldon is not without its risks, the reward will be 20-30KOz per year for 20 years or more
using the existing plant.
AGS is reopening old workings in a climate of rising gold prices. This greatly reduces the risks of mining at Maldon
