I think Naked Shorting would definitely explain the divergence between price action and reported short positions, but rest assured plenty of traders are making lots of money atm from TON shorting it. They will stop when enough is enough and maybe if they're lucky, make as much money when it starts to rise onwards and upwards
p.s naked shorts are not manipulation, shorting is not manipulation, if you need to learn what manipulation is look it up, it's illegal for very good reason.
