University and college students in oz and the US using nearmap during their studies is a very important strategy IMO.
When students graduate and enter organisations, they are often the vangaurd for technological changes within their organisations. So if students are familiar with nearmap and it is integrated in the GIS systems at universities, they will be more likely to seek to use nearmap in their careers and highlight to their employers the potential productivity gains of using nearmap.
If I was on the nearmap board, I would make it a very high priority to have every college and university in the US using nearmap. It will act as an incubator. As the students graduate out into industry, the chickens will hatch and subscriptions will multiply.
