I agree with your sentiment hiway! I still dont think it is going to be an easy pathway to success and Cougar and other UCG players are going to have to lobby hard. Hopefully the legal conflict gets resolved sooner rather than later. The most likely worst outcome (read: not the worst) in my mind would be that the government provide a staged approval for Cougar to commence power generation with burdenous environmental monitoring before considering cutting the red tape on the industry. I certainly dont think it would be necessary, but i think this is the only angle that the CBM crowd have to justify their exclusivity over whole tracts of land despite UCG being more effective at energy extraction. Does anyone know where court proceedings are at?
I wouldnt mind seeing the outcome of the complaint lodged by Linc to the ACCC.
Who would have thought it would have been so early in the new year that a big order at 6.2c would not get filled! What is the world coming to!
