The cost of producing Green hydrogen is multiples of the cost of producing Blue hydrogen and delivering at scale is also problematical. Over time the equation will undoubtedly improve as most things do, but in the near term, i.e. in the here and now it’s irrelevant what Andrew Forrest fantasises about.

Same too with his green steel. Sounds great to a receptive audience but the challenges are immense starting an entire industry in WA from scratch.

Mr Forrest is doubtless a formidable character and definitely not one to be underestimated. He has imagination, drive and lots of money, but not everything he touches turns to gold....I and many others lost plenty of money when Anaconda Nickel died an ignominious death. He is only human after all.

The HXG/Ebony Blue Hydrogen project is based on proven technology with quantifiable metrics today. There are many obstacles no doubt to be overcome but at least it works in the present.
