I am holding VCX while I accumulate REIT. While my paper profits on VCX are decreasing- I am not too worried about other REITs being in the red. Planning to buy another one tomorrow.

Reasoning

When first vaccine announcement came out- REIT was one sector that rallied strongly. Mr Market has marked the sector as post covid.

Then Sydney then Melbourne and now Brisbane saw covid cases- including the SA/UK strains. So the sector is struggling again- well the SPs anyway.

I have confidence in the way that, overall, these flare ups are being handled- by governments and sensible citizens in the East. Our vaccine roll out is getting closer.

So, I expect that as we come out of covid again- REIT will rally strongly again- maybe not to precovid levels- at least for a very long time- but to heights that will make investments now well worth making.

For long term holders looking to recover precovid SPs- sorry but your wait will be long- we need to see migration, visitors, workers and students return first.

And if it goes really pear shaped with covid? Then we will not need to worry about SPs anyway- there will be far bigger problems.
