Simply go through the list of the most influential of the modern thinkers and you will see that they have all in unison rejected the very idea of objective morality, albeit for different reasons: - Darwin, reduced morals to an extension of animal instincts - Freud, regarded repression of impulses as the source of neurosis so need to let go and just do it - Marx, disdained morality as an expression of self-interest.
Current morality gives us the ability to destroy life at the beginning, we are considering doing the same at the end. And in the end we simply ask ourselves what is therefore left in the middle? I think our young people are already asking the question...
