re: gulf of mexico wells OK, so today we got our result after all. The gas numbers look good. PSA struck with 6 out of 6 possible sands in V#1, and then hit 3 out of 4 possible sands in V#2. I could not find any details on the V#2 sands to indicate if the one that got away could have been large.
After the announcement there was spirited buying but also spirited selling. I dread to imagine the reaction if V#2 had have come up dry.
Now I am trying to understand a bit more about the future wells in GOM. My most likely scenario is that V258 B area drilling will be later this year (as previously announced), and that any successful wells can be tied into the new V258A platform for minimal cost. Does that sound feasible?
