Alan I agree with your view, having grown up in the steel city of Newcastle I saw the first hand effects of Japan's industrialisation as both my father and grandfather worked for BHP IN THE 60's, 70's and early 80's.
I have seen it again with the amount of coal heading out of port along with the number of ships waiting to dock.
This is what makes me bullish bulk commodities and energy although the problems coming out of the US are unsettling to say the least.
