Most of those predictions have been reversed; generally food production has kept pace with population growth, politics still needs some attention.

I look on it that greenies, trade unions etc are just like different companies bidding for business. Instead of straight price they use issues of safety and quality, and equality to sell their product. They certainly know their target, look at how the Democrats got some support for their diesel tax. They wanted farmers, miners and truckers to change over to unleaded or gas! They knew their votes come from Balmain, not Bourke.
