    Yes old grey one, would that be the 'Club of Rome'. I think that science has moved on a little since then, that was when slide rules were still in vogue! Most of those predictions have been reversed; generally food production has kept pace with population growth, politics still needs some attention.

    I was talking to some 'environmentalists' at a seminar and asked them that if paper and other 'carbon' waste was buried in landfill would that not be locking it up and reducing carbon in the atmosphere?

    I look on it that greenies, trade unions etc are just like different companies bidding for business. Instead of straight price they use issues of safety and quality, and equality to sell their product. They certainly know their target, look at how the Democrats got some support for their diesel tax. They wanted farmers, miners and truckers to change over to unleaded or gas! They knew their votes come from Balmain, not Bourke.
