Zeroto1$mill: I have got a whole room full of 'junk' - hmm, well, it's my office - so I can afford to have a large desk with desktop computer, small speakers and a printer plus assorted writing pads, books etc. just sitting there as I don't use it for anything else, but thinking of downsizing and then it will be 'nicer' to have a laptop only - printer can be tucked away in a corner somewhere. Windows 7 will eventually be obsolete, I believe Microsoft have stopped updating it - so eventually you'll have to buy their latest program. I am thinking of going AppleMac - everyone who has one is singing its praises.
I checked GraysOnline out after my last posts and the CPU I paid $150 for is now available for $18, but of course it's older technology. Generally there is now a limited choice of CPUs etc. on GraysOnline and not everyone is happy with them as I discovered through a forum, so I must have been lucky.
There are great choices now in regard to computers, TVs and electronic gadgets - Ebay is also worth checking out - just wonder what happens to all the discarded stuff, especially the growing mountain of 'obsolete' mobile phones (as we are being pushed into owning the latest model, always) - worldwide!?
Funny that - years ago, when I was sharetrading like crazy (and lost almost the lot in the GFC) I was dreaming of a small computer-like gadget, which was portable and which would allow me to access my trading and sharetrading sites, including my banking, emails etc. from overseas or when travelling - and look what we've got now; it's totally amazing. Of course, we've lost a lot in privacy but people don't seem to mind.
Similarly, I remember trying to rig up some wires (with help) from my B.&A. to a loudspeaker in my backyard so we could have music outside for a party ......... look what we can do nowadays, wirelessly!
