I decided to measure this tree today, it's just so fascinating It has three trunks essentially, all growing from ground level. I suspect it has been pollarded at some point, if that's possible with this species. So the trunks are respectively 90, 110 & 140 cms approx in circumference. I haven't tried to measure the ground level circumference. I would guess the tree is anywhere from 60 - 100 years old and it's the regular red flower variety and flowers abundantly. The cat loves it and does its speed trials up & down the trunks.
