Emphasize - ONLY a rumor - JUST an entirely unsubstantiated rumor - rung in by a talk back caller to 3AW radio this am -

but, just, perhaps, such "speculation?" might go some way to explaining some of the huge mysteries surrounding this flight - and it's eventual fate -

I give it on the basis this could be complete balderdash - and hope, should the black box be able to be retrieved, the eventual truths will emerge. Unless this is found, as we all know, (and even then) this could remain one of the world's greatest aviation mysteries. On this basis, only, I put this rumor forward (of course half of Melbourne heard it, anyway -)

Rumor as enuniciated this morning, via some male anonymous caller to the "Rumor File" segment, stated that President Obama received a high level, secret briefing, last week, cpnfirming to him this MH370 flight has indeed been either a terrorist controlled flight, at the outset, or, at some stage, became one - headed for some Asian version of 9/11. But somehow, unsuccessfully as something went terribly awry!

Saddest thing - if searchers can never find/prove anything, is that here (perhaps) we MAY (perhaps) have had a planeload of hero passengers, or crew, or a mix, whose efforts may forever (perhaps) end up going entirely unsung and unrecognised, throughout aviation history. Some of them may well have given their lives in the process of (perhaps) trying to save this flight - and their fellow passengers?

Could this proposition go some way to explaining some of the strange hesitations, crossed warnings, and slowly revealed info, radar secrecies, etc. such a dire event would have engendered? This seeming "close to the chest" reluctance of some countries to communicate with others, as this was actually happening?

Would also explain the huge international effort trying to locate this black box, in time. And the Malaysian Airlines and Governmental seeming huge indecisions in their Press Conferences. Leaking the info out erratically, and slowly.

And, if it were a terrorist attack, gone wrong, what was the eventual target?

Trivial rumors are one thing. This may well be one, And no better than gossip. Of which there is plenty on this matter world wide.

If this happens to prove to be the truth - via the black box - (If - lots of "if's!") - then all hell will no doubt be leashed!

My question - why was this plane seemingly steered to one of the deepest areas of the Indian Ocean to meet it's final demise?

Leave it with you. AM aware this is not the first time this theory's arisen - but this one alleges President Obama being "told" it for fact?
